At least nine people, including six children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house in Gaza's southernmost city of Rafah, as reported by hospital authorities on Saturday. The strike occurred late Friday in the western Tel Sultan neighborhood, according to Gaza's civil defense.
The bodies of the victims, consisting of six children, two women, and one man, were transported to Rafah's Abu Yousef al-Najjar hospital, as confirmed by the hospital records. At the hospital, grieving relatives mourned over the bodies of the children, wrapped in white shrouds, while offering each other solace.

Among the casualties were Abdel-Fattah Sobhi Radwan, his wife Najlaa Ahmed Aweidah, and their three children, as confirmed by Radwan's brother-in-law, Ahmed Barhoum. Barhoum also lost his wife, Rawan Radwan, and their 5-year-old daughter Alaa.
Expressing anguish, Barhoum criticized the attack, describing it as an act devoid of humanity, primarily affecting women and children sheltering in the bombed house.
Despite international calls for restraint, Israel continued its offensive against the Islamic militant group Hamas, escalating tensions in the already volatile Middle East region.
Rafah, situated on the border with Egypt, currently hosts more than half of Gaza's population, the majority of whom have been displaced due to conflicts in the territory.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which began following an unprecedented raid into southern Israel by Hamas and other militant groups on October 7, has resulted in numerous casualties, with the Gaza Health Ministry reporting an increase in deaths and injuries from Israeli airstrikes.
The escalating violence has also sparked regional tensions, with Israel facing off against Iran, Hezbollah, and Houthi rebels. In the occupied West Bank, clashes between Palestinian militants and Israeli forces have resulted in further casualties.
As tensions remain high, residents in affected areas have voiced their outrage through protests and strikes, underscoring the dire humanitarian situation in the region.
The conflict continues to claim lives and exacerbate suffering, highlighting the urgent need for international intervention to facilitate a peaceful resolution and alleviate the humanitarian crisis affecting civilians on all sides.
