Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, gave a final warning to the Houthi group in Yemen on Monday. He told them to stop attacking Israel with missiles. He said if they didn’t stop, they would face the same bad fate as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the leader of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, who have all been targets of Israel.

Danon also warned Iran, saying that Israel has the power to strike any place in the Middle East, even in Iran. He made it clear that Israel would not allow any attacks by groups backed by Iran, like the Houthis.
This warning came after Israel’s army announced that it had stopped a missile fired from Yemen, which caused sirens to go off in Israel. In response, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, a leader of the Houthis, said they would keep attacking Israel and continue to support Gaza.
The Houthis have fired missiles and drones at Israel many times. They say they are doing this to show support for the people in Gaza who are being attacked by Israel.
Danon spoke to the UN Security Council and warned the Houthis to pay attention to what happened to other groups, like Hamas and Hezbollah. He said, “This is your last warning. This is not a threat. It is a promise. You will face the same bad fate.”
Before the meeting, Danon told reporters, “Israel will protect its people. If 2,000 kilometers is not enough to keep our children safe, it will not be enough to protect the terror from our strength.”
Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Houthis that Israel was “just getting started” after airstrikes hit several targets linked to the Houthis in Yemen, including the airport in Sanaa, ports on the west coast, and two power plants.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the leader of the World Health Organization, was about to get on a plane at the Sanaa airport when the Israeli attack took place. One of the crew members was injured.
Israel has also targeted the leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah and destroyed their military centers. The fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in Syria was another big victory for Israel.
At the UN meeting, Khaled Khiari, a UN official for the Middle East, said he was very worried about the rising violence. He asked the Houthis to stop their attacks on Israel and said everyone should follow international and humanitarian laws. He warned that more fighting could hurt the whole region.
Khiari also said that people in Yemen, Israel, and other parts of the Middle East would continue to suffer if the violence kept going.
Russia’s ambassador to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, condemned the Houthi missile attacks on Israel but also criticized Israel’s strikes on Yemen. He said Israel’s actions, along with those by US and British warships in the Red Sea, were “not fair” in comparison to the threat posed by the Houthis.
