Jerusalem: Israel has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Gaza truce talks in Doha, scheduled for Thursday. The Israeli delegation, sanctioned by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, will include key figures from the country's intelligence and security agencies. The team comprises David Barnea, head of the Mossad; Ronen Bar, chief of the Shin Bet security service; Nitzan Alon, who coordinates hostage-related issues; and Ophir Falk, a political adviser to Netanyahu.
The purpose of the talks is to negotiate a ceasefire and discuss the potential release of hostages after over 10 months of conflict. Netanyahu's office announced the delegation's approval and mandate for the negotiations.

As of now, Palestinian militant group Hamas has not confirmed if it will participate in the discussions. A Hamas official, speaking anonymously, mentioned that negotiations with mediators have intensified but did not confirm if Hamas would send negotiators to Doha. The official indicated that Hamas is seeking to impose a ceasefire plan proposed by U.S. President Joe Biden in late May and criticized the ongoing negotiations as insufficient.
The absence of a definitive Hamas response raises questions about the prospects of a breakthrough in the talks, as both sides remain entrenched in their positions.
