On October 7, Hamas abducted four individuals—Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv—from the Nova music festival. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has unveiled the intricate details of a daring rescue operation, executed to free these hostages. Dubbed "Seeds of Summer," the operation marked a high-risk, meticulously planned effort that unfolded during daylight hours in Gaza.
According to the IDF, the operation was a surgical strike conducted with precise intelligence and weeks of preparation. It commenced at approximately 11 a.m. local time in Nuseirat, central Gaza. Members of the National Police's special anti-terror unit, Yamam, supported by Shin Bet agents, raided two Hamas buildings to liberate the hostages.
Reports indicate that Noa Argamani, aged 26, was found in an apartment during the operation. Almog Meir Jan (22), Shlomi Ziv (41), and Andrey Kozlov (27) were rescued from a separate location.

Dramatic aerial footage released by the IDF showcased the hostages' extraction. In the footage, the three rescued individuals can be seen running alongside Israeli forces toward a waiting helicopter. Once aboard, the helicopter swiftly took off, carrying them to safety.
The operation was not without risk. Under 100 Palestinians were reportedly killed during the raid, with the hostages discovered in civilian buildings. The decision to execute the operation during daylight hours was deliberate, aimed at maintaining the element of surprise and gaining leverage inside the flats where the hostages were held.
Tragically, Chief Inspector Arnon Zmora lost his life during the operation. Israeli Ambassador to India Naor Gilon paid tribute to Zmora, hailing him as a hero.
Following their rescue, the hostages—Noa Argamani, Almog Meir Jan, Andrey Kozlov, and Shlomi Ziv—were transferred to the 'Sheba' Tel-HaShomer Medical Center for medical examinations. The IDF assured that they were in good medical condition.
It is essential to note that while the operation rescued the hostages, it resulted in casualties among Palestinians, as reported by the Hamas-run government media office.
