Tensions between India and Pakistan got worse after a deadly attack in Pahalgam, where 26 people died. Iran stepped in and offered to help bring peace between the two countries. Iran said it is ready to help because it has old ties with both India and Pakistan. To show its good intentions, Iran even shared a poem that is about 700 years old.

The Iranian leader, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, said that both India and Pakistan are like "brotherly neighbors" to Iran. He explained that Iran cares about both countries and wants to help them understand each other during this difficult time. He promised that Iran is ready to use its influence to help both countries talk and avoid more fighting.
The leader shared a few lines from a famous Persian poem called "Bani Adam" by the poet Saadi Shirazi. The poem says that all people are connected, and if one person suffers, others also feel the pain. This poem reminds us that we are all part of the same world and should help each other.
This same poem was once quoted by the former U.S. president, Barack Obama, in a message to the people of Iran.
At the same time, Saudi Arabia also tried to help. The Saudi leader, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, talked on the phone with both India and Pakistan. They discussed the attack in Pahalgam and how it was connected to problems between the countries.
Iran offered to help at a time when people were worried that India and Pakistan might fight more. The terrorist attack in Pahalgam killed 26 people. India blamed Pakistan for planning the attack, saying Pakistan helped the terrorists. Pakistan denied being involved. As the tension grew, the two countries' armies had small fights along the border.
After the attack, India took strong actions. They stopped an old agreement about sharing river water between the countries. India also closed the border crossing at Attari, kicked out Pakistani military staff, and reduced diplomatic ties.
India also told all Pakistani citizens who entered through the Attari border to leave India by May 1.
In response, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian flights and stopped all trade with India, including trade going through other countries.
