Indian-origin Man Fatally Shoots Brother After Pizza Party, Commits Suicide in New York

In Richmond Hill, New York, a tragic incident unfolded when 33-year-old Karamjit Multani, of Indian origin, took the lives of his younger brother and injured his mother before ending his own life. The shocking event occurred following a seemingly normal evening of enjoying pizza with the family.

According to reports from the New York Police Department's crime scene unit, Karamjit Multani entered his brother Vipanpal Multani's room around 10:30 pm and without any warning, shot him dead. Additionally, he inflicted a gunshot wound to his own mother's stomach before turning the firearm on himself.

The Multani family's patriarch, Bhupinder Multani, recounted the horrifying turn of events. He managed to escape and seek help from a neighbor after the violent outburst unfolded. The neighbor, upon entering the residence, discovered Vipanpal Multani critically wounded and pleading for assistance. Despite the neighbor's efforts, Vipanpal succumbed to his injuries, leaving the family and the community devastated.

Shockingly, Karamjit Multani, a married man with three young children and believed to be financially stable, showed no prior signs of aggression, and his possession of a firearm was unknown to those close to him. His sudden and violent actions left everyone bewildered and struggling to comprehend the tragic loss.

The grief-stricken father, while tending to his injured wife and grappling with the loss of his sons, expressed disbelief over the unexpected turn of events. Describing his sons as having minor disagreements but no major issues, he struggled to understand what could have led Karamjit to commit such a heinous act against his own family.

Jaspreet Singh, the brother-in-law of the two deceased brothers, echoed the sentiments of confusion and disbelief, describing Karamjit as a jovial and amiable individual. The motive behind Karamjit's violent actions remains unclear, leaving the community grappling with shock and sorrow in the wake of the tragedy.
