Kathmandu, an Indian national was arrested for possessing unreported gold and silver in Nepal. Acting on a tip, police raided a Pokhara jewelry shop, detaining owner Surjit Singh, 40, for gold and silver smuggling.
Authorities confiscated 7.782 kg of gold, 6 kg of silver ornaments, and ₹68 lakh in cash from Singh. Hailing from Medinipur in West Bengal, Singh operated the jewelry shop. Initial investigations revealed a lack of supporting documents for the seized gold and silver.
