Various regions across Myanmar, Laos, and Vietnam have been severely affected by extensive flooding following Typhoon Yagi, which has been labeled as Asia's most powerful storm of the year. The devastating impact of the typhoon has prompted urgent humanitarian responses from around the world.

In a show of solidarity, India has initiated Operation Sadbhav to provide critical relief to the affected areas. On Sunday, New Delhi coordinated the dispatch of relief materials to the three storm-hit countries. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar announced that 10 tonnes of aid, including dry rations, clothing, and medicines, were sent to Myanmar aboard the Indian naval ship INS Satpura.

In addition, a military transport aircraft from the Indian Air Force is en route to Vietnam with 35 tonnes of aid, which includes essential supplies such as water purification items, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils, and solar lanterns. Another shipment of 10 tonnes of relief materials, comprising generators, water purification supplies, hygiene products, mosquito nets, blankets, and sleeping bags, is being sent to Laos.
