In the afternoon session of Day 2 at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi for the 4th Test between India and England, Shoaib Bashir emerged as the standout bowler for England. His off-spin deliveries caused considerable trouble for the batsmen, exploiting the increasingly unpredictable pitch conditions. Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his impressive performance, securing another half-century, and the team now looks to Sarfaraz Khan for support in the upcoming session.
The day commenced with Ravindra Jadeja making a pivotal impact, claiming three wickets in quick succession as India restricted England to 353 runs in the first session. Jadeja's dismissals included Ollie Robinson and Shoaib Bashir, disrupting England's progress. Despite Ollie Robinson's commendable resistance, he ultimately fell to Jadeja, ending the resilient 102-run partnership for the eighth wicket.
England's Joe Root exhibited exceptional grit, scoring a century and standing firm amid challenging circumstances. Ollie Robinson also contributed with his maiden Test fifty. However, Jadeja's timely interventions tilted the balance in India's favor on Day 2 in Ranchi. Root remained unbeaten at 122, providing England with a competitive total.
