Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Horizon International School (HIS), the dynamic educational hub in Jumeirah, proudly celebrates the extraordinary achievement of its alumnus, Lewis McKenzie, who has been recognised by OxfordAQA for attaining the Highest Mark in the World in A Level Geography.

This prestigious accolade forms part of the OxfordAQA Go Further Awards 2025, which honours students achieving the highest examination marks globally or regionally across International GCSEs and AS/A Levels. Lewis’s recognition is a testament to his outstanding academic dedication, analytical abilities, and passion for geography.

Last year, Lewis earned the highest mark in AS Level Geography in the UAE and Gulf Region. This year, his global recognition in A Level Geography marks another significant milestone in his academic journey. Known for his curiosity, diligence, and analytical mindset, Lewis has consistently excelled in understanding the complex interplay between human and physical geography.

Currently, Lewis is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and Media at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, aiming to leverage his geographical insights to develop sustainable solutions in the corporate world. Reflecting on his achievement, Lewis said:
"Although I faced several challenges during my A-Levels, this award demonstrates that with hard work and the unwavering support of my teachers and family, anything—including being the best in the world—is possible."

As part of his recognition, Lewis attended the OxfordAQA Go Further Awards Ceremony, where exceptional students from the Gulf region were celebrated for their outstanding academic results.

Stephen Quinn, Principal of Horizon International School, commented:
"We are immensely proud of Lewis McKenzie for this remarkable accomplishment, placing him among the top-performing students globally. His achievement reflects his passion, perseverance, and love for learning, as well as the expertise of our dedicated teachers. It is a proud moment for our entire school community and a reminder of what can be achieved when talent meets commitment."

The Go Further Awards by OxfordAQA highlight students who attain the highest marks worldwide or within their region, underscoring the value of high-quality teaching and a learning culture that empowers students to excel.
