The Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA) has recently showcased a stunning array of winning photographs from its Instagram contests themed 'Culture', 'Contrast', and 'High Key'. These captivating images are now featured on HIPA's official website, www.hipa.ae.
The competitions attracted entries from a diverse range of photographers, spanning both amateurs and professionals globally. Notably, photographers from the Philippines and India excelled, securing multiple wins, while Arab photographers, particularly from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Algeria, and Sudan, also made significant contributions. Turkish and Italian photographers were also recognized for their exceptional creativity and skill.

Each winner received HIPA’s prestigious medal of appreciation and had their photographs prominently featured on HIPA’s Instagram account, @HIPAae.
H.E. Ali Bin Thalith, Secretary General of HIPA, expressed his admiration for the wide range of age groups represented in the competitions, highlighting the talents of young photographers who skillfully captured compelling narratives through their lenses. He extended congratulations to all winners and participants, encouraging them to continue honing their craft by studying these award-winning photos.
Several winners shared insights into their achievements. Mohammed Suliman Alfaleh from Saudi Arabia, a three-time winner with HIPA, described his winning photo capturing the Kara tribe in Ethiopia's Omo Valley, illustrating their cultural practices and beliefs. Humaidi Awahibi of Oman celebrated his first win, showcasing the cultural heritage of Masirah Island during a camel festival. Abdelkader Said Allam from Egypt, recognized for his photo on 'Contrast', highlighted the architectural beauty of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha. Meanwhile, Guillermo Nogueira from Italy shared his experience of capturing striking contrasts at a Dubai studio, marking a significant milestone in his photography career. Finally, Heigen G. Villacarlos from the Philippines won in the 'High Key' category with a mesmerizing shot from Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station.
These successes underscore HIPA's role in fostering creativity and excellence in photography on a global scale, celebrating diverse perspectives and cultural narratives through visual artistry.
