Hezbollah, originating during Lebanon's civil war, has a history of engaging in conflict with Israel, primarily in support of the Palestinian cause and Gaza. Amid the ongoing Gaza conflict, Hezbollah, reportedly backed by Iran, is purportedly preparing for a surprise assault on Israel. Secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah cautioned Israel to brace for unforeseen actions during a televised address commemorating the 24th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day.
Nasrallah highlighted Hezbollah's role in fighting Israel, particularly in light of recent developments in the Gaza conflict. He referenced statements from Israeli officials admitting failure to achieve strategic objectives in the conflict. Additionally, Nasrallah pointed out setbacks for Israel, including the recognition of the Palestinian state by several European countries, which he attributed to the October 7 Hamas attack, dubbed the "Al-Aqsa Flood battle."

Furthermore, Nasrallah accused Israel of disregarding international resolutions and perpetrating violent incursions into Rafah despite an International Court of Justice (ICJ) directive to cease military operations. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's top aide, Tzachi Hanegbi, affirmed Israel's right to self-defense following the ICJ ruling.
The situation underscores escalating tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, with the former signaling readiness for potential military action amid ongoing regional conflicts and diplomatic developments.
