Dubai Culture & Arts Authority has backed Emirati designer Shatha Essa in launching her new children’s wear brand, Shatha Essa Kids Collection, at Harrods, London. This marks a significant achievement as Shatha Essa Kids becomes the first national brand to feature at the prestigious store. This initiative aligns with Dubai Culture's commitment to promoting Emirati talent on a global scale.
At Harrods, Shatha Essa Kids occupies a dedicated section on the fourth floor, within the luxury brands room. The space showcases the brand's latest collections, characterized by whimsical designs inspired by fairytales and dreams. Designed personally by Shatha, the area aims to evoke the atmosphere of a joyful birthday party where children can engage in role-playing and dress up dolls adorned in dresses reminiscent of those available for purchase. An interactive theatre further enhances the experience, featuring illustrations of the dresses in various scenarios to encourage imaginative play among young visitors.
Khulood Khoory, Director of the Projects & Events Department at Dubai Culture, emphasized the authority's role in nurturing creative talents and supporting their growth. She highlighted the ability of Emirati designers to innovate and establish successful projects that transcend local boundaries, thereby showcasing the cultural identity and potential of Dubai’s design sector.
