Hamdan Bin Muhammad Unveils Advanced Naval Vessel, Emphasizing National Role in Defense

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the United Arab Emirates has commissioned Al Emarat Corvette (P111), the newly built naval ship, that exceeds the best military standards across the world.

Among those who attended the commissioning ceremony were His Excellency Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Fadhel Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Defence Affairs; His Excellency Staff Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces; and Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al Alawi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence.

Sheik Hamdan commented that the commissioning of this sophisticated warship is a giant leap forward to strengthen the Navy of the United Arab Emirates. He explained it would be crucial for the protection of national security, the defense of territorial waters, and would also support strategic interests of the UAE. Sheikh Hamdan pointed out that addition of this warship to the fleet would bring about a vast improvement in protecting the coastline.

Sheikh Hamdan praised the Emirati professionals who contributed significantly to the designing and development of the new warship. He said that the investment in such advanced military technology not only helps in strengthening the nation's defence sector but also allows it to compete on the global level. The UAE Armed Forces can continue to be at a state of readiness and efficiency at all times by constantly upgrading their capabilities.

The Al Emarat Corvette uses state-of-art technology. They are equipped with high-tech panoramic sensors and sophisticated security intelligence systems that guarantee clear data collection and analysis. Such a vessel incorporates the latest advancements in radar technology, electro-optical devices, electronic warfare suit, communication antennae, as well as other weather monitoring and reporting equipment, all of which enhance the functionality of the ship to effectively and timely respond to challenges.

Sheikh Hamdan underscored the importance of continued innovation in national expertise in the defence sector, stating that by focusing on research and modern technology, the UAE can ensure its Armed Forces remain well-prepared to handle any future threats and challenges.
