Hainan Province, located in the south of China, has become the country's main center for commercial space launches. It is home to China's first commercial spacecraft launch site and the Wenchang spaceport, which is on the coast. On Monday, the government of Hainan released a new plan to turn the region into an important place for developing new and high-quality industries, with a special focus on the space industry.

The plan aims to speed up the growth of commercial space launches by learning from the best space launch sites around the world. The province will work on creating key space-related infrastructure and innovation platforms to support this growth.

The document also says that Hainan will set up a system for measuring, operating, and controlling commercial space launches. This includes creating a platform for recovering and reusing rockets. The goal is to build a strong, reliable, and stable system for space launches, making them cheaper, more frequent, safe, and sustainable.

In addition, the plan emphasizes growing the rocket, satellite, and data industries in Hainan. It also calls for creating rules and regulations for the commercial space industry in the Hainan Free Trade Port.

One of the key ideas in the document is to establish an international center for advanced satellite manufacturing and a research and development center for both rockets and satellites. The province aims to attract top satellite manufacturers and support companies that design integrated satellites.

The plan also focuses on making new breakthroughs in space medicine and suggests developing the low-altitude economy. This means exploring ways to use drones and other technologies in low-altitude airspace.

China's government plans to encourage the development of new industries, launch pilot projects using new technologies, and make steady progress in commercial space, low-altitude technologies, and other growing industries.
