Under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi will host the 4th International Autism Conference from 25 to 28 April 2026 at the Abu Dhabi Energy Center.
The conference is organised by the Zayed Authority in collaboration with Lotus Holistic Group, ADNOC, and Skills4Mind. It is held in strategic partnership with key government entities, including the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, and Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
Growing Global Platform for Autism Awareness
The conference continues to build on its previous success. The third edition in 2025 attracted more than 2,000 participants from 15 countries, reinforcing its position as a leading global platform dedicated to autism.
Participants included 1,360 attendees from the UAE and over 400 international delegates, reflecting the event’s expanding global reach and influence in the scientific and healthcare communities.
For 2026, organisers expect participation to exceed 3,000 attendees from more than 25 countries, marking a significant step forward in international collaboration.
Focus on AI, Inclusion, and Innovation
The fourth edition will focus on advancing autism care through innovation and collaboration. Key areas include:
Artificial intelligence and innovation
Scientific research
Social inclusion
Inclusive workplaces
Excellence in healthcare
Inclusive education
The programme will feature a scientific conference, specialised workshops, an AI training bootcamp, and an innovation exhibition showcasing the latest technological solutions.
AI to Transform Autism Support
Dr Taha Reda, Founder of Skills4Mind and Head of the AI and Innovation track, highlighted the growing role of AI in autism support.
He noted that AI technologies can enable early diagnosis, personalised learning, improved communication, and emotional support, helping individuals with autism achieve greater independence and social inclusion. He also stressed the importance of ethical governance and transparency in deploying such technologies.
Family-Centred Approach and Social Impact
The conference aligns with the UAE’s Year of Family, emphasising the vital role of families in rehabilitation and empowerment.
Abdullah Abdul Aali Al Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority, stated that the event aims to translate knowledge into practical solutions that enhance quality of life.
“We are expanding AI applications, strengthening partnerships, and focusing on sustainable impact through integrated services and family empowerment,” he said.
Raising Awareness Through Community Engagement
Amina Al Hidan, CEO of the International Autism Conference and Lotus Holistic Group, said the event builds on a strong scientific and societal foundation.
She highlighted the success of the 2025 awareness campaign and announced that Jumana Murad has been named Autism Ambassador 2026, recognising her role in raising awareness and portraying the realities faced by autism families.
Strong Professional Participation
The previous edition demonstrated strong sector diversity, including:
Over 480 education specialists
More than 400 healthcare professionals
Over 380 therapists
In terms of representation:
78% were service providers
12% represented family and community organisations
10% were leaders and policymakers
This highlights a well-integrated ecosystem supporting individuals with autism.
The 2026 conference aims to deliver high-impact initiatives, advanced training programmes, and expanded innovation showcases, further strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for autism research, care, and inclusion.
