In collaboration with the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has introduced the "Frij Refrigerator" initiative, a humanitarian effort aimed at enhancing the welfare of workers during the scorching summer months. The program focuses on providing relief to laborers by distributing cold beverages and refreshments at various construction sites and factories across the emirate. This initiative aligns with GDRFA’s broader mission to improve the working and living conditions of laborers, ultimately boosting their productivity and contributing to the sustainable development of Dubai.
Approximately 8,000 workers have benefited from this initiative, which underscores the importance of ensuring a comfortable work environment, especially during the extreme heat of the summer. The Director-General of GDRFA Dubai expressed pride in the launch of the "Frij Refrigerator" initiative, emphasizing that it reflects the values of compassion and solidarity that are deeply rooted in UAE society. The initiative also reaffirms the country’s commitment to the well-being of its labor force, recognizing the essential role they play in the ongoing development of the nation.
