Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended a discussion panel led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
The panel saw the presence of several senior UAE leaders, including H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; and other dignitaries from across the Emirates.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi underlined that human development and empowerment remain at the heart of Fujairah’s progress, with all initiatives designed to invest in people. He emphasised that awareness and self-identity form the starting point of growth, citing the UAE’s own story as a global model of resilience and unity.
Education stood out as a major focus area. The Crown Prince said it is the foundation for sustainable development, supported by initiatives like the Fujairah Research Centre, the Emirati Researchers initiative, and the Fujairah Young Techpreneurs program. Scientific research and innovation, he noted, are vital for resource sustainability and national advancement.
Highlighting Fujairah’s vibrant sporting culture, Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi described sport as “a way of life,” fostering both physical health and community pride. The emirate has gained recognition in martial arts and marine sports, strengthening its status as a sports destination.
He also reiterated that youth represent the nation’s strongest investment, supported by leadership and development programs, language initiatives, and international scholarships that prepare the next generation to lead confidently.
On government development, Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi noted that the Fujairah Government’s core principle is “investing in people to enhance quality of life and productivity.” Programs such as the Fujairah Government Excellence Award and the Mohammed bin Hamad Program for Leadership Development reflect this vision, alongside strategic public-private collaborations that drive innovation.
Tourism and culture were presented as twin pillars of Fujairah’s identity. The Crown Prince said the emirate’s tourism model combines sustainability, cultural depth, and community participation — embodied in projects like the Fujairah Adventure Centre and Adventure Park.
“Tourism introduces your values and culture to others through shared experiences,” he said, describing it as an avenue for exchange and learning.
On culture, Sheikh Mohammed Al Sharqi stressed its role as “the bridge that connects minds,” affirming the UAE’s enduring commitment to coexistence and peace. He underscored the shared duty to safeguard Emirati identity, Arab heritage, and Islamic values in a rapidly changing world.
Concluding his remarks, he said: “Instilling the values of belonging, patriotism, and responsibility in young generations ensures that they will protect our national identity in the face of challenges.”
