On an exciting day at the French Open, top tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek reached the semi-finals with brilliant performances. Fans were thrilled as the matches got intense in Paris.
Alcaraz Crushes Paul in Style
22-year-old Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz played an incredible match against Tommy Paul from the USA. Alcaraz won in straight sets, finishing the match in just 94 minutes. He took the first two sets in only 53 minutes, showing powerful shots and fast movement. Paul, a former junior champion at the French Open, couldn’t match Alcaraz’s speed and skills.

In the third set, Paul managed to take a 4-3 lead, but Alcaraz quickly bounced back, winning the next three games in a row and ending the match. After the game, Alcaraz said, “I could close my eyes and everything went in. I just hit the ball with full power without thinking too much.”
Now, Alcaraz will face Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals.
Musetti’s First Semi-Final, But with a Warning
Lorenzo Musetti played a tough match against American Frances Tiafoe and won in four sets. This is Musetti’s first time reaching the semi-finals of the French Open. But the match had a surprising moment. In the second set, Musetti kicked a ball that accidentally hit a line judge on the upper body. Luckily, the judge wasn’t hurt, and Musetti was given a warning for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Musetti said, “It was an unlucky moment. I was scared and said sorry right away. I didn’t mean to do it.” Tiafoe, however, was not happy and said, “It’s funny how nothing serious happened after that. I don’t think it’s fair.”
Even with the warning, Musetti kept his focus and played strong to win the match.
Swiatek Sets Up Big Match with Sabalenka
On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek, who has already won the French Open four times, played a strong match against Elina Svitolina of Ukraine. Swiatek won 6-1, 7-5, even though it was windy and the stadium wasn’t full. She has now won 26 French Open matches in a row and is aiming to win the title for the fourth time in a row—something no other woman has done in the professional era.
Swiatek will now face world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-final. Sabalenka beat Olympic gold medalist Zheng Qinwen 7-6(3), 6-3, ending Zheng’s 10-match winning streak at Roland Garros.
Sabalenka said, “We’re all here for one reason. We want that beautiful trophy. I’m happy to be in the semi-final again and want to do better than last time.”
As the tournament moves into the final rounds, fans can expect more thrilling matches and unforgettable moments in Paris.
