Forest Defeat Wolves for Sixth Consecutive Premier League Win

Nottingham Forest won 3-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux, making it six straight wins in the Premier League. This is the first time Forest has done this since 1979 under manager Brian Clough.

Chris Wood scored his 12th goal of the season, while Morgan Gibbs-White and substitute Taiwo Awoniyi also found the net. The victory keeps Forest in the race for the title, with 40 points from 20 games. They are only six points behind leaders Liverpool, who have one game less. Forest has the same number of points that Leicester City had at this point in the 2015/16 season, when they went on to win the Premier League.

Wolves are struggling and have only 16 points from 20 games. They are just above the relegation zone on goal difference. Wolves had some chances to score, especially striker Jorgen Strand Larsen, but he missed several good opportunities.

The match started well for Forest as they took the lead in the seventh minute. A quick counter-attack allowed Gibbs-White to pass the ball to Anthony Elanga, who returned the ball for Gibbs-White to score with a low shot into the bottom corner. Wolves had a chance to equalize when Strand Larsen was in front of the open goal, but Murillo blocked the shot off the line. Strand Larsen also had a header saved by Forest's goalkeeper, Matz Sels.

Forest doubled their lead before halftime. Callum Hudson-Odoi ran down the left wing and passed the ball back for Wood to score with a side-footed finish. In the second half, Strand Larsen had another chance but was stopped by a good save from Sels.

Awoniyi finished the match for Forest, scoring his first goal since February after being set up by substitute James Ward-Prowse. The win keeps Forest close to the top of the Premier League, while Wolves have more work to do to avoid the relegation zone.
