Three Dubai Metro stations have reopened following closures due to severe flooding caused by record-breaking rainfall in April. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that Onpassive, Equiti, and Mashreq stations on the Red Line resumed normal operations on May 19, 2024. These stations had been out of service since the heavy rains on April 16, which resulted in widespread flooding and significant travel disruptions across the UAE.

The Energy Metro Station is expected to reopen next week after finalizing necessary maintenance and safety checks. The RTA has assured that all required repairs and safety measures have been completed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these stations.

The April storm brought the highest rainfall recorded in the UAE since 1949, with some areas, such as Al Ain, receiving up to 254 mm of rain in just 24 hours. This exceptional weather event caused significant damage and prompted the temporary closure of several metro stations and intercity bus services.
