A delegation from the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) embarked on a significant journey to China, aiming to delve into the realm of environmental protection and glean insights into cutting-edge technologies. The primary focus of the visit was to explore advancements in air quality management, monitoring, and purification technologies. This endeavor also sought to identify best practices and innovative approaches employed in air purification, with a strategic intent to benchmark, adopt relevant projects, and fortify cooperative ties and sustainable investment opportunities between the two nations.
At the heart of the delegation's agenda was a thorough examination of the air purification tower project—a pioneering initiative designed to cleanse the atmosphere of pollutants. The delegation explored the feasibility of integrating such sustainable technologies into public spaces in Abu Dhabi to bolster air quality standards.

Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of EAD, underscored the paramount importance of environmental protection and air quality enhancement in Abu Dhabi's developmental agenda. She highlighted EAD's proactive efforts in leveraging various projects and initiatives to achieve these goals. Notable among these initiatives is the comprehensive study of air quality through advanced air modeling techniques, aimed at informing policy formulation and strategic planning to promote environmental sustainability. This endeavor aligns with the broader national strategies, including the Net Zero by 2050 Strategy and Abu Dhabi's Environmental Centennial 2071. The latter, launched by EAD, envisions Abu Dhabi as a flourishing emirate harmonizing with nature, characterized by pristine air quality for all its residents.
Her Excellency emphasized the significance of the visit in enriching EAD's understanding of the latest environmental technologies and fostering mutual exchange and collaboration between China and the UAE. She lauded the mission's success in leveraging China's expertise, success stories, and methodologies to bolster EAD's Air Quality Strategy. Her Excellency underscored Abu Dhabi's commitment to maintaining air quality standards on par with developed nations, positioning clean air as a cornerstone of both current and future priorities for EAD and its partners.
