His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination (ZHO), has announced the launch of the Emirati-Russian Psychology Dictionary, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering international collaboration in the field of psychology. This dictionary is the first of its kind in both the UAE and the world, created in partnership with Ural Federal University in Russia.

Addressing a Key Gap in Psychological Literature

Al Humaidan highlighted the absence of a specialized and comprehensive scientific dictionary addressing psychological concepts in both Arabic and Russian. “Upon reviewing the Arabic and foreign scientific literature, it became clear that the Arabic and Russian libraries lack a specialized and comprehensive scientific dictionary that addresses scientific concepts in theoretical, applied, and practical branches of psychology in both Arabic and Russian. Researchers and translators in psychological sciences face challenges in translating psychological concepts in both languages. Therefore, the dictionary serves as a reliable reference that can be utilized in translation processes and scientific research,” he explained.

Facilitating International Collaboration

Al Humaidan expressed gratitude towards the collaborating entities that made the dictionary possible. He noted that the dictionary will facilitate the exchange of expertise between the UAE and Russia in psychological sciences, enhance the internationalization of education, and promote cross-cultural cooperation. The dictionary aims to encourage joint research and educational activities by providing detailed explanations and concepts for psychological terms, thereby enhancing communication among psychology professionals.
