Emirates resume Nigeria flights starting October 1st

Emirates Airlines has announced the resumption of its services to Nigeria starting from October 1st, 2024. The airline will operate a daily flight between Lagos and Dubai, aiming to provide customers with increased options and connectivity from Nigeria's largest city to Dubai and beyond.

The flights will be conducted using a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. Departing from Dubai at 09:45, flight EK783 will arrive in Lagos at 15:20. The return flight, EK784, will depart from Lagos at 17:30 and reach Dubai at 05:10 the following day. Tickets for these flights can now be booked through the Emirates website or travel agents.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, expressed the airline's excitement about resuming services to Nigeria. He highlighted the popularity of the Lagos-Dubai route among Nigerian customers and emphasized the airline's commitment to reconnecting leisure and business travelers to Dubai and its extensive network of over 140 destinations.

With the resumption of operations to Nigeria, Emirates now serves 19 gateways in Africa with 157 weekly flights from Dubai. Through its codeshare and interline partnerships with airlines like South African Airways, Airlink, and Royal Air Maroc, Emirates offers connectivity to an additional 130 regional points in Africa.

Nigeria, being a major economic hub in Africa, shares strong bilateral trade relations with the UAE. Lagos, as the nation’s commercial center, plays a pivotal role in this relationship. The resumption of daily passenger flights will also boost trade, with Emirates SkyCargo providing over 300 tonnes of bellyhold cargo capacity into and out of Lagos every week.

Emirates SkyCargo aims to support Nigerian businesses by exporting goods through its hub in Dubai to key markets such as the UAE, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. In return, it will import vital goods like pharmaceuticals and electronics from markets such as the UAE, India, and Hong Kong.

The Emirates Boeing 777-300ER serving the Lagos route will offer 8 First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats, and 304 seats in Economy Class. Passengers can expect a premium onboard experience with regionally inspired menus, a wide selection of beverages, and over 6,500 channels of entertainment on the award-winning inflight entertainment system, ice.
