But now, things have changed. The two met after Elton’s music show on Saturday Night Live (SNL). When they saw each other, Elton said “Forgive me” to Madonna. That moment made them friends again.

Madonna shared the story on Instagram. She said, “We finally buried the hatchet!” She also said she went to see Elton’s show on SNL and was very happy.

Madonna remembered a time from her school days. She said she once sneaked out of her house to watch Elton’s concert in Detroit. That show was special for her. It helped her feel proud of being different. She said Elton’s music gave her the strength to be herself.

She also said it hurt her for many years when Elton said bad things about her in public. She didn’t know why he disliked her. So when she found out Elton would be on SNL, she chose to go there and speak to him.

Madonna said when they met backstage, Elton asked for her forgiveness right away. They hugged each other, and the old fight ended.

Then Elton said something even more special. He told Madonna that he had written a song for her and wanted to sing it with her. This made Madonna feel very happy. She said it felt like life had come full circle.

At the end, she used a line from Elton’s famous song:
“And you can tell everybody, this is your song.”

Now, their long-time fight is over, and they are ready to work together in music again.
