Vivian Jenna Wilson, Elon Musk’s estranged daughter, has vehemently disputed the billionaire’s recent portrayal of her childhood, accusing him of fabricating details and claiming he was largely absent during her formative years.
In a series of posts on Meta-owned Threads, Wilson, who is transgender, challenged Musk’s depiction of her as a child. Musk had previously shared on social media that Wilson, who was born as Xavier, had a keen interest in fashion and described her as “gay and slightly autistic,” adding that she would choose his outfits and use terms like “fabulous.”
Wilson refuted these claims, asserting that her father’s account is “entirely fake.” She criticized Musk for his lack of involvement in her upbringing and accused him of harassment over her sexuality and gender identity. “This entire thing is completely made up,” Wilson stated. “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he wasn’t there. When he was around, I faced relentless harassment for my femininity and queerness.”

The 20-year-old, who came out as transgender in 2022 and legally changed her name from Xavier to Vivian while dropping the Musk surname, further condemned Musk’s comments as an attempt to garner sympathy. She dismissed his claims about her early interests in musicals and theatre as “baseless,” noting that she did not develop a genuine interest in these until later in her schooling.
Musk’s remarks about her childhood come amid a broader public debate over his views on transgender issues. Recently, Musk has been vocal about his opposition to what he terms the “woke mind virus,” suggesting that it had a detrimental impact on his family. In a conversation with Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson, Musk claimed that he was misled into consenting to puberty blockers for his biological son, Xavier, and vowed to combat what he perceives as ideological extremism.
Wilson responded sharply to these claims, denouncing Musk’s statements as a desperate bid for attention. “I’m legally recognized as a woman in the state of California and I don’t concern myself with the opinions of those who are below me,” she wrote. She described her father as being in a “ketamine-fueled haze,” seeking validation through his controversial statements.
This public feud highlights the deep rift between Musk and Wilson, with both parties using social media to air their grievances and counter each other’s narratives.
