In a heated exchange on X (formerly Twitter), Elon Musk and US Vice President Kamala Harris have clashed over their interpretations of presidential promises. The controversy erupted when Harris criticized former President Donald Trump, alleging that he vowed to act as a dictator from "day one" if re-elected.

Elon Musk, a prominent supporter of Trump, responded sharply to Harris's statement. He accused her of lying and shared an AI-generated image depicting Harris in a red blazer and a peak cap adorned with the hammer and sickle symbol, traditionally associated with Communism. The image was intended to mockingly suggest that Harris, a Democratic presidential candidate, might have authoritarian tendencies.
Musk's post included a caption: "Kamala vows to be a communist dictator on day one. Can you believe she wears that outfit!?" The tweet has sparked significant debate and controversy online, but as of now, Kamala Harris has not publicly addressed Musk's comments.
Elon Musk, who previously supported President Joe Biden during the 2020 election, has recently shifted his political allegiance towards Trump. Musk’s change of stance follows a series of disagreements with the Biden administration, particularly over policies related to climate change, immigration, and the treatment of Tesla by the government. Musk has also been vocal about his discontent with the Biden administration’s rejection of his proposed carbon tax and has expressed frustration over Tesla’s exclusion from a White House EV summit.
Musk has been an outspoken critic of Biden’s policies and has previously warned of dire consequences if Biden were to win another term. He has suggested that such an outcome could lead to the end of free elections in the US due to proposed changes in immigration laws.
Despite his recent criticisms, Musk has expressed interest in working with Trump on potential government audits and identifying areas for budget cuts if Trump were to be re-elected. However, such involvement could raise ethical concerns about conflicts of interest, given Musk's business ventures.
The ongoing feud between Musk and the Biden administration underscores the broader political divisions in the US and highlights the increasing role of social media in shaping political discourse.
