Egypt to See Rains and Thundershowers Across Several Regions Through Tuesday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has forecasted a period of unstable weather across Egypt, with rain and thundershowers expected in various regions through Tuesday. This shift in weather patterns is due to the year's first autumn air depression, bringing light to moderate rains, intermittent thunderstorms, and cooler temperatures to parts of the country.

Starting Sunday, the northwestern coast, northern areas of the Nile Delta, and the Matrouh Desert are likely to see light to moderate rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunder. The southern Red Sea mountains may also experience thundershowers as the air depression moves across the region. The EMA indicates that these areas could face periods of heavier rain with local thunderstorms adding intensity in some spots.

The forecast specifically notes that the northwestern coast and northern Delta might experience moderate to heavy rains on Sunday, potentially with thunder in certain areas. Light rains are anticipated in parts of the southern Delta, where rainfall has been scarce in recent months.

On Monday and Tuesday, the forecast suggests that light to moderate rain showers will continue over the North Coast and northern Delta regions, extending the stretch of wet weather as cooler air settles over the area. Cairo and other areas across the Nile Delta are expected to reach daytime temperatures around 25-26 degrees Celsius, with nighttime lows dropping to 17-18 degrees, marking the onset of autumn.

The EMA has advised residents to remain cautious, particularly in areas vulnerable to flash flooding or intense downpours, and to stay updated on weather conditions throughout the week.
