Esmat made this statement at the Ministerial Meeting of the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) World Fusion Energy Group, where he highlighted Egypt's potential to become a key player in global energy through its strategic location connecting Africa, Asia, and Europe. This positioning offers Egypt a significant opportunity to strengthen regional power linkages, improving energy efficiency and sustainability.
The minister also noted that by 2040, Egypt plans to increase its renewable energy share to over 60%, aiming to boost energy efficiency and reduce consumption. This effort is part of Egypt’s comprehensive energy strategy, which aligns with the goals of the Egypt Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Esmat’s comments reflect Egypt's long-term commitment to transitioning to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future, positioning the nation as a regional energy hub with a focus on innovation and sustainability.
