During his visit to Azerbaijan on the sidelines of the COP29 summit, Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli held a key meeting with Azeri Prime Minister Ali Asadov, where they discussed enhancing trade and investment ties between their two nations. Madbouli expressed Egypt’s eagerness to deepen its economic relations with Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of expanding trade exchanges and investment opportunities. He highlighted that the Egyptian government aims to activate joint cooperation in critical sectors such as energy, transport, and the pharmaceutical industry, and encouraged further engagement through business visits to explore new areas of collaboration.

Madbouli also praised the warm reception he received in Azerbaijan and expressed his appreciation for the ongoing cooperation between the two countries. He pointed out that the Egyptian-Azeri Joint Committee is scheduled to meet in the first quarter of 2025 to discuss potential partnerships in agriculture, industry, energy, petroleum, and pharmaceuticals.
Prime Minister Asadov welcomed the Egyptian delegation and reaffirmed the strong cooperation between the two nations across various fields. He also expressed his support for Egypt’s proposal to convene the joint committee meeting next year, seeing it as an important step in strengthening bilateral ties.
Upon his arrival in Baku, Madbouli was greeted at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense Industries, Vugar Valeh oglu Mustafayev, and Egypt’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Hisham Nagy. The Egyptian Prime Minister is accompanied by Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad during this visit.
