The Philadelphia Eagles stopped the Kansas City Chiefs from making history by winning three Super Bowls in a row. The Eagles won 40-22 in New Orleans on Sunday. This was sweet revenge for losing to the Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl.

The Eagles played better from the start. Their defense was too strong for Chiefs' star Patrick Mahomes. He could not play his usual game. Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts was the hero. He threw two touchdowns and ran for another, leading his team to victory.
Running back Saquon Barkley made history. He ran 31 yards in the first half and broke the record for most rushing yards in one season and playoffs. This made the Eagles’ win even more special.
This was the Eagles' second Super Bowl win. Their first win was in 2018. The stadium was full of fans and many famous people like U.S. President Donald Trump and pop singer Taylor Swift. It was the first time a sitting president attended a Super Bowl. Trump watched the first half and then left, but Swift stayed.
The Eagles started the game strong. In the first quarter, they scored with their famous "Brotherly Shove" play. Hurts pushed into the end zone with the help of his teammates. Their defense was also great. Rookie Cooper DeJean caught a bad pass from Mahomes and ran for another touchdown. Later, Hurts threw a 12-yard pass to A.J. Brown to make it 24-0 at halftime.
Mahomes had a bad game. He threw two bad passes, got sacked three times, and only completed 6 out of 14 passes in the first half. The Eagles controlled everything. In the second half, Hurts made a long 46-yard pass to DeVonta Smith for another touchdown. The score became 34-0.
The Chiefs finally scored late in the third quarter when Xavier Worthy reached the end zone. But it was too late. DeAndre Hopkins and Worthy scored again, making the score look better, but it did not change the result. The Chiefs’ dream of making history was destroyed.
No one expected the game to be so one-sided. The crowd had many big names like football star Lionel Messi, music legend Paul McCartney, and rapper Jay-Z. They all watched the Eagles play an amazing game.
New Orleans was full of excitement all week as it hosted the Super Bowl for the 11th time. But in the end, the Eagles had the biggest celebration, proving they are now the best team in the NFL.
