Dubai updates parking zone codes, urges motorists to verify before paying

Post by: Elena Malik

Parkin, the company responsible for managing public parking in Dubai, has announced that it is updating the codes for some parking zones. The company explained that while certain zones will keep their current codes, others will have new ones. For instance, some areas that were previously labeled as “A,” “B,” “C,” and “D” will now be identified as “AP,” “BP,” “CP,” and “DP.”

Parkin has urged motorists to carefully check the updated codes displayed on the parking signs before making payments. The company stated that the changes have been clearly marked on the signage to help drivers avoid confusion. To stay updated, motorists can also visit the Parkin website or use the Parkin mobile app, which provides the latest zone information.

Parking Timings During Ramadan

Parkin also reminded the public about the adjusted parking hours during Ramadan. From Monday to Saturday, parking charges will apply in two time slots:

The first period will run from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The second period will be from 8:00 PM to 12:00 midnight.

Multi-storey parking facilities, however, will remain chargeable around the clock, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Upcoming Changes in Fare Tariff

The company also revealed that its management team is in the final stages of discussions with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). They are working on finalizing details regarding the new variable fare tariff, which is expected to come into effect by early April 2025.

Parkin encouraged drivers to familiarize themselves with the new codes by carefully reading the signage in the parking areas. The company emphasized that the updated zone information is easily accessible through their website and mobile app, helping drivers avoid incorrect payments or fines.
