The countdown has begun for the 5th Asian Youth Para Games after the official agreement was signed between the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) and the Dubai Club for People of Determination, which will organize the event.

The contract signing took place at the APC headquarters in Dubai, with His Excellency Majid Al Usaimi, APC President, and His Excellency Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, signing on behalf of their groups.

The Games will be held from December 7 to 14, 2025, in Dubai, under the support of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. Eleven sports will be part of this big event.

This is the second time Dubai will host the Asian Youth Para Games. The city first hosted them back in 2017.

At the ceremony, Al Usaimi thanked His Highness for supporting the Games, especially after the original host city, Tashkent, could no longer hold the event, which was planned for October.

Al Usaimi highlighted how this shows the strong support the UAE and Dubai give to People of Determination in all areas of life.

He also praised the Dubai Club for People of Determination for stepping up to organize the event despite challenges, showing their full dedication to the growth of the Paralympic movement.

He reminded everyone that keeping the Youth Games going in Asia, the largest continent, is very important to the Asian Paralympic Committee.

“Our young athletes are among Asia’s most valuable assets. At the Asian Paralympic Committee, we work hard to provide the best opportunities and support to athletes with determination so they can succeed,” Al Usaimi said.

He added that the Committee has a clear goal: to help young athletes grow into professional players by offering competitions and training for the players and their coaches throughout the year.

Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, expressed his excitement about hosting the Games again. He said the team is ready to deliver a great event, even with limited time to prepare.

“Over the years, the UAE and Dubai have earned a strong reputation by hosting many big and successful sports events. They continue to build this image by offering the world amazing experiences and making a positive impact in Asia,” he said.

Berregad added, “We are fully committed to making these Games the best and strongest edition ever by giving our best effort.”

This event will bring young athletes with determination from all over Asia to compete, share their talents, and inspire others, showing the world the power of courage and spirit.
