Dubai is set to host the second edition of the highly anticipated Dubai Stand-Up Paddle (SUP) event, part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024. Organized by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), this exciting event will take place on Saturday, November 2nd, at the stunning Hatta Dam, offering participants a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of paddleboarding in one of the UAE's most picturesque locations.

Following the success of last year's event, which saw over 1,000 participants from the UAE and beyond, this year’s edition promises to be even more exhilarating. Whether you're a first-time paddler or an experienced enthusiast, there’s something for everyone. Participants can look forward to 45-minute SUP sessions for adults, while kids aged six and up, as well as teens, will enjoy 30-minute sessions. This event isn’t just a fitness challenge—it’s a celebration of community, strength, and stamina, all set against the backdrop of Hatta’s spectacular mountains.

For beginners, there will be a chance to learn the basics of SUP, while seasoned paddlers can push their limits. New this year is a free one-hour kayaking session for all registered participants, giving adventurers the chance to explore the crystal-clear waters of Hatta even further. Kayaks will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with single kayaks for those 17 and older, and double kayaks for participants under 17, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Families are welcome to join in the fun, with training sessions designed specifically for kids and teens. These sessions, led by certified coaches, will ensure that even the youngest paddlers feel confident on the water. Participants will receive certificates of achievement, recognizing their progress and skills.

A highlight of the day will be the mass participation challenge, where paddlers will team up for a spirited show of fitness, teamwork, and camaraderie. To cap off the day, a 45-minute sunset yoga session will be held on the water, offering participants a peaceful way to unwind while taking in the breathtaking views of Hatta.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, saying, "Dubai Stand-Up Paddle is a fantastic initiative that encourages an active lifestyle for everyone. Last year’s event was a great success, and we are proud to once again host this exciting event in the scenic Hatta area, which showcases the natural beauty of the UAE while promoting health and fitness."

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), added, "This event is more than just a fitness challenge—it’s a platform for fostering a long-term commitment to health and well-being. We aim to continue building on the success of last year and provide a unique opportunity for residents and visitors alike to embrace an active lifestyle.”

In addition to the SUP and kayaking sessions, the event offers much more. Free shuttle buses will transport participants from Dubai World Trade Centre to Hatta Dam and back, making it easy for everyone to attend. SUP boards and kayaks will be provided free of charge, so all you need to bring is your energy and excitement for the day ahead.

For those looking to extend their adventure, a range of outdoor activities will be available at Hatta. SUP participants can take advantage of a special deal, priced at AED 99 per person, which grants access to the High Ropes Course, Archery, Wall Climbing, and more. The adventure continues with extended hours for archery, axe throwing, and wall climbing, along with activities like the Twin Zipline and Drop In open until sunset.

Food trucks will also be on-site, offering a wide variety of culinary options to keep participants fueled throughout the day. For those wanting to make a weekend out of it, camping zones, hotels, and Airbnbs will be available, along with BBQ rentals for an unforgettable outdoor experience in Hatta.

Dubai Stand-Up Paddle is organized by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Sports Council. It is presented by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), with association partners Hatta and Hatta Kayak. Other key partners include Mai Dubai and various government organizations, all working together to make this event a huge success.

So, if you’re ready for an unforgettable fitness experience in one of the UAE’s most scenic locations, don’t miss out. Register today and get ready to paddle your way to adventure at the Dubai Fitness Challenge’s second edition of Dubai Stand-Up Paddle at Hatta Dam.
