The recent launch of the Work Bundle platform in Dubai heralds a significant advancement in streamlining the visa and residency process, reducing the once-lengthy procedure from nearly a month to a mere five days. Announced during a press conference, officials highlighted the platform's integration of government entities, including the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and more, aiming to simplify and expedite the process for acquiring work permits and residency visas.
This innovative platform marks a departure from the traditional method, cutting down the required documents from 16 to just five and minimizing visits to service centers from seven to only two. The integration spans various administrative bodies, such as Dubai Health, Department of Economy and Tourism, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), ensuring a cohesive and efficient process for applicants.
Initially launched in Dubai, the Work Bundle platform is poised to extend its benefits across other emirates in the UAE. Notably, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, lauded the platform's role in simplifying procedures, reducing bureaucratic hurdles, and fostering a more business-friendly environment. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized the platform's potential to save millions of working hours previously spent on manual visits and transactions, streamlining government procedures and enhancing efficiency for both public and private sector entities.
With a focus on digital transformation and service optimization, the UAE government aims to significantly reduce operational costs and enhance the overall experience for individuals and businesses. This initiative aligns with broader directives to streamline bureaucratic processes, as mandated last month, with ministries and federal entities tasked with reducing procedures and processing times by half within a year. Overall, the introduction of the Work Bundle platform signifies a pivotal step towards modernizing government services and promoting economic growth in the UAE.
