The Dubai Land Department (DLD) has achieved a significant milestone in the first half of 2024 by completing 647 amicable real estate settlements, totaling more than AED 1.38 billion. This achievement highlights the department’s commitment to efficiently managing property disputes and enhancing the operational effectiveness of the real estate sector.
Through the Oqoodi Platform, DLD has successfully approved 100% of these settlement agreements, streamlining and expediting the process of resolving real estate conflicts. The platform has proven to be an essential tool in facilitating a smoother, more reliable method for documenting and confirming the terms agreed upon by all parties involved.
The DLD’s focus on amicable settlements underscores its dedication to resolving property disputes peacefully. With a team of experienced legal specialists, the department offers expert consultations and thorough dispute analysis, aiming to resolve conflicts quickly without resorting to court proceedings. This approach not only helps maintain positive relationships between parties but also saves significant time, effort, and resources otherwise spent on judicial processes.

Abdullah Al Zarooni, Legal Support Section Manager at the DLD, highlighted the Oqoodi Platform’s role in these settlements, stating, “Amicable settlements are crucial for promoting reconciliation and resolving disputes efficiently. This process helps ensure investor satisfaction and keeps real estate projects on track, supporting various industries linked to construction.”
The Dubai Land Department remains dedicated to providing a conflict resolution service that benefits both investors and developers. By prioritizing reliable and efficient dispute resolutions, the DLD reduces the need for judicial intervention, thereby reinforcing confidence among developers and investors and fostering continued collaboration within the real estate sector.
