Dubai's healthcare landscape experienced significant expansion during the first quarter of 2024, as reported by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). The authority disclosed a notable 9% surge in licensed healthcare facilities and a commendable 7% increase in the number of healthcare professionals compared to the corresponding period last year. This upsurge reflects the emirate's commitment to fortifying its healthcare infrastructure and bolstering its position as a premier hub for healthcare investment.
The newly added healthcare facilities include 64 outpatient clinics, 2 hospitals, 49 pharmacies, 2 laboratories, 3 radiology diagnostic centres, and 11 home healthcare centres, signifying a broad spectrum of healthcare services catering to diverse medical needs. Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, CEO of DHA's Health Regulation Sector, emphasized that this substantial growth underscores Dubai's competitiveness, robust infrastructure, and well-regulated healthcare sector.
Throughout the first quarter of 2024, the DHA issued licenses to over 150 healthcare facilities and 800 healthcare professionals, further enhancing the sector's vitality. Additionally, the authority renewed licenses for 12,319 healthcare professionals and 1,122 healthcare facilities, highlighting sustained efforts to foster a conducive environment for healthcare investment.

As of March, Dubai boasts a total of 5,020 licensed healthcare facilities and employs 59,509 highly skilled healthcare professionals across various specialties. This extensive network underscores the emirate's dedication to meeting the evolving healthcare needs of its populace.
