The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has signed an important agreement with the Hyatt hotels in Dubai. This new partnership will help show Dubai to even more people around the world through fun events, smart marketing ideas, and unique experiences for visitors.
The agreement supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, called D33, which aims to make Dubai one of the top cities globally for both business and travel.
The agreement was signed by His Excellency Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), which is part of DET, and Mr. Fathi Khogaly, Area Vice President for the Hyatt hotels in Dubai. Both sides have agreed to work closely to attract more tourists and help grow Dubai’s image across the globe.
As part of this partnership, Hyatt hotels in Dubai will take part in different DET-led activities. This includes welcoming international visitors on familiarisation (FAM) trips, running educational programs, and hosting big events. Hyatt will also help with DET’s global marketing efforts such as flash sales, tourism exhibitions, and international roadshows. In return, Hyatt will receive help promoting its new projects – like the exciting new Grand Hyatt Dubai Waterpark that is opening soon.

The agreement also focuses on using popular influencers, also known as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and making creative social media content to reach more people and create a strong impression.
His Excellency Issam Kazim said:
“This partnership with Hyatt matches our leaders’ dream of making Dubai the best city in the world to visit, live in, and work. With the support of our partners like Hyatt, we are working hard to offer more things for tourists to enjoy and to keep Dubai ahead as a top travel destination. We want every visitor to have a special experience, no matter where they come from.”
Mr. Fathi Khogaly, Area Vice President of Hyatt Hotels in Dubai, said:
“Dubai has grown so much as a tourism and hospitality center, and that has really helped Hyatt grow too. We opened our first Hyatt hotel in Dubai in 1980, and now we have 10 hotels here. This new agreement with DET shows how committed we are to supporting Dubai’s future. By working together, we want to give guests amazing experiences and continue to grow with the city.”
Hyatt’s hotels in Dubai include a variety of options – from luxury to mid-range – such as Grand Hyatt Dubai, Park Hyatt Dubai, Hyatt Centric Jumeirah Dubai, Andaz Dubai The Palm, and Hyatt Place Dubai Jumeirah. Hyatt is also planning to grow more in the city, starting with the upcoming waterpark.
Thanks to smart ideas, strong teamwork, and great partnerships like this one, Dubai is welcoming more and more visitors every year. In 2024, the city saw a record 18.72 million overnight international visitors – a 9% increase from 2023’s 17.15 million. This means Dubai broke its tourism record for two years in a row.
Dubai’s hotels also did very well. In 2024, hotel rooms were 78.2% full on average. By the end of the year, Dubai had 154,016 rooms available across 832 hotels – more than the 150,291 rooms in 821 hotels from the year before.
