The prestigious Dubai International Boat Show returns for its 30th edition, promising a showcase of luxury yachts synonymous with the lifestyles of the super-rich. Held at Dubai Harbour from Wednesday to Sunday, the event highlights the marine industry's commitment to sustainability, with a focus on the Dubai Reef project announced at Cop28. This initiative aims to significantly increase sea life, enhance the sustainability of fishermen’s livelihoods, and attract eco-tourism to the region.
Scheduled from February 28 to March 3, the event boasts a daily opening time from 3pm to 8pm, welcoming visitors to explore a diverse array of offerings. Over 1,000 brands and 200-plus boats from renowned shipyards worldwide will grace the show, reflecting the industry's global stature. With at least 46 boat launches anticipated and exhibitors from 55 countries, the event promises to be a premier gathering for the maritime industry, organized by Dubai World Trade Centre.
Attendees can expect to marvel at boats from esteemed shipyards such as Azimut, Sunseeker Gulf, Gulf Craft, Finnmaster, HP Watermakers, Oceano, and Althaus Yachts. A one-day pass is priced at Dh45 ($12), while an all-day pass offering access throughout the event costs Dh100. Last year's edition featured a stunning collection of over 175 yachts and luxury vessels valued at more than Dh2.5 billion, underscoring the show's significance in the global maritime landscape.
Saeed Mohammed Hareb, secretary general of Dubai Sports Council and senior adviser to the Dubai International Boat Show, emphasizes the event's role as a platform for innovation and industry networking. The Middle East's prominence in the superyacht sector is highlighted, with the region currently home to over 12 percent of the world’s superyacht fleet. Additionally, the market is projected to witness substantial growth in value, reflecting the region's increasing influence in the maritime domain.
Riju George, group director of exhibitions with Dubai World Trade Centre, underscores the show's alignment with Dubai's innovative spirit and technological advancements. Last year's edition showcased Dh2.5 billion worth of boats, including 35 superyachts, underscoring Dubai's position as a hub for international events. Despite global challenges, industry insiders attest to the buoyancy of business at the show, attributing the large turnout to Dubai's status as a leading destination for international events.
Trixie LohMirmand, executive vice president of Dubai World Trade Centre, asserts Dubai's pivotal role in shaping the future of the maritime sector, emphasizing the importance of technology and innovation in driving industry progress.
