Dubai Attracts 5.18 Million International Visitors in Q1 2024

Dubai's tourism sector continues its upward trajectory, with the city welcoming 5.18 million international overnight visitors in the first quarter of 2024, representing an 11% increase from the same period in 2023, as announced by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) during the 31st edition of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

Building on the success of a milestone year in 2023, which saw a record 17.15 million international overnight visitors, Dubai's tourism industry remains robust in early 2024.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, praised this accomplishment, stating, "The number of visitors in the first quarter of 2024 indicates that Dubai is on course for another standout performance this year after the emirate received a record number of visitors last year, with international visitors reaching 17.15 million."

This growth is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, designed to solidify Dubai's position as a global hub for both business and leisure.

Helal Saeed Al Marri, the Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the significance of Dubai's sustained visitor numbers, emphasizing their commitment to achieving the long-term goals outlined in the D33 Agenda.

With increasing tourist arrivals, Dubai is experiencing a surge in demand for accommodations, surpassing the current supply. Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), acknowledged this trend, stating, "We will continue to drive strong global and market-specific campaigns, collaborating with our key domestic and international stakeholders and partners and taking a diversified marketing approach to promote Dubai to audiences around the world."
