Furthermore, DP World's innovative BOXBAY technology earned the company the SEAL Sustainable Innovation Award. BOXBAY represents a groundbreaking advancement in container port logistics, offering an automated, safe, and environmentally friendly high-bay storage container system. This system has the potential to revolutionize the way containers are stacked, organized, and moved, thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions and improving operational efficiency at port terminals.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, the Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the company's unwavering commitment to sustainability. He highlighted the significance of DP World's achievements at DP World Santos, where the port has successfully reused 100% of the waste generated on-site, further underscoring the company's dedication to responsible waste management practices.

Since assuming operations at the Port of Santos in 2013, DP World has emerged as Brazil's leading multipurpose port operator, handling various commodities with impressive efficiency and capacity. The company's Aterro Zero project, launched in 2022, exemplifies its proactive approach to waste management by transforming non-recyclable waste into sustainable energy for industrial activities, thereby contributing to a more sustainable future.

DP World's collaboration with German industrial engineering specialists SMS group resulted in the development of BOXBAY, which addresses key challenges in container port logistics. This innovative solution, piloted at Dubai's Jebel Ali Port, optimizes yard space, eliminates unproductive reshuffling moves, and enhances quayside trans-shipment speeds. Moreover, the incorporation of solar power technology and CO2-neutral operation further underscores DP World's commitment to environmental sustainability.
