Donald Trump recently revealed that he once offered incumbent President Joe Biden a chance to win $1 million with a golf challenge, which Biden ultimately declined. Despite the high stakes, Trump’s offer was not accepted, and he has continued to rally his support base with his election campaign, even after surviving an attempted assassination.
During a rally in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Trump recounted his offer to Biden: “I said I would take you to any golf course you want... I’d give you $1 million if you could break 100 in a round of golf.” Trump added that Biden “turned me down.”
Trump further elaborated on how he adjusted the challenge: “Then I said, I’ll give you ten strokes a side... I’ll give you a million dollars if you could beat me. He had no chance.” He criticized Biden’s abilities, stating, “They talk a good game, but it's all talk.”

The golf debate between the two figures was a notable topic during the first presidential debate in early June, before President Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee. The discussion of golf became a point of contention, reflecting broader concerns about their ages and physical fitness.
Trump boasted of his own golfing achievements, claiming he had won two club championships and two regular club titles, emphasizing that such success requires both intelligence and powerful hitting ability. “He doesn’t do it. He can’t hit a ball 50 yards. He challenged me to a golf match; he can’t hit a ball 50 yards,” Trump remarked.
In response, Biden challenged Trump to a driving contest and noted that he had improved his golf handicap to a six during his vice presidency. Biden also proposed playing a round of golf if Trump agreed to carry his own bag, asking, “Think you can do it?”
Trump dismissed Biden’s claim of a six handicap as “the biggest lie,” suggesting it was far from the truth. Biden later revised his handicap to an eight but faced skepticism from Trump, who said, “I’ve seen your swing. I know your swing. Let’s not act like children.”
Biden’s official handicap from 2018, according to USGA records, was a commendable 6.7, though Trump remains unconvinced about Biden’s golfing prowess.
