dnata, a premier global provider of air and travel services, has announced the acquisition of a multi-year contract to deliver premium inflight catering for Thai Airways. This partnership marks an important milestone as Thai Airways resumes its services to Italy.
Under the new agreement, dnata will operate from its facilities at Milan Malpensa (MXP) airport, where its skilled teams will prepare and deliver over 200,000 meals annually. This ensures a top-tier, ‘smooth as silk’ dining experience for passengers on Thai Airways’ daily flights from Milan to Bangkok (BKK).
Nicola Citarella, Chief Executive Officer of dnata Catering & Retail Italy, expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to welcome Thai Airways as our exclusive catering partner at MXP. Our dedicated team is committed to delivering exceptional culinary products and services that enhance the passenger experience. We anticipate a successful and enduring collaboration.”

Beyond its partnership with Thai Airways, dnata provides catering and retail services to 36 airline customers across 11 major airports in Italy. With a team of over 880 hospitality professionals, dnata Catering & Retail managed the uplift of approximately 12 million meals for over 140,000 flights in the financial year 2023-24.
As one of the world’s leading inflight hospitality providers, dnata’s catering and retail division operates with a workforce of 10,500 professionals. The division produces more than 110 million meals each year, catering to a diverse range of airlines, including full-service, low-cost, and VIP carriers from over 60 locations globally.
