The DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), recognized as the world’s leading free zone and the Government of Dubai's authority on commodities trade, has announced a series of strategic agreements designed to enhance the offerings of its recently launched Sustainability Hub. This initiative aims to strengthen the Hub’s position as the premier ecosystem for environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices in the region.
These agreements, made with prominent industry leaders and sustainability platforms, include partnerships with S&P Global Market Intelligence (SPGMI), S&P Global Sustainable1, Earthly, and Climate Essentials. The collaboration aims to provide DMCC Sustainability Hub members with privileged access to essential tools, resources, and networks to advance their ESG initiatives.

Through these partnerships, the DMCC Sustainability Hub is poised to provide exclusive benefits, including reduced rates, top-tier insights, and enhanced services. This development is crucial as it aligns with the UAE's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. It encompasses essential components outlined in the Federal Decree announced in August 2024, which includes emission reduction targets, mandatory sustainability reporting, and encouragement for innovation.
Feryal Ahmadi, Chief Operating Officer of DMCC, emphasized the Hub's goal of maximizing positive impact for its community of nearly 25,000 members. She stated, "With resources from S&P Global, Earthly, and Climate Essentials, we will broaden our community’s access to critical ESG tools, ensuring Dubai remains central to the climate action dialogue."
The partnership with SPGMI and S&P Global Sustainable1 will provide Hub members access to the S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), a leading sustainability evaluation tool. This resource aids companies in linking their sustainability objectives to business strategies and measuring progress against their peers. Additionally, members will benefit from a Sustainability Starter Pack, which guides them in aligning their sustainability performance with global reporting standards.
Earthly’s involvement will enable members to create tailored carbon management strategies while investing in verified carbon offset projects. This partnership focuses on high-integrity nature-based solutions, such as reforestation and biodiversity restoration, which are critical for climate change mitigation.
Climate Essentials will offer tools that allow businesses to calculate their carbon footprints comprehensively. This user-friendly platform is designed to democratize access to essential ESG data, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs.
Lorenzo Curci, Co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Earthly, expressed enthusiasm about partnering with the DMCC Sustainability Hub, highlighting the importance of nature-based solutions in achieving climate goals. He stated, "Nature-based projects can provide significant emissions reductions needed by 2030 to combat climate change effectively."
Daniela Menzky, Founder and CEO of Climate Essentials, also expressed excitement about their role in the Hub, stating, “Our partnership with DMCC allows us to support businesses in one of the most dynamic markets globally as they tackle climate challenges.”
Launched in March 2024, the DMCC Sustainability Hub aims to connect industry leaders within the DMCC business district to drive meaningful ESG change. In addition to offering access to finance through ESG-focused venture capital and accelerator programs, the Hub facilitates networking, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative meetings to support its members' sustainability journeys.
This initiative marks a significant step towards fostering a robust sustainability framework within Dubai’s vibrant business community, reinforcing the emirate's commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.
