Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday, as confirmed by his family. The 89-year-old actor, who has been in and out of hospital for several weeks, is now receiving treatment at home under medical supervision.
The actor’s family released an official statement expressing gratitude to fans for their love and prayers: “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
This announcement comes after a wave of false rumors regarding the actor’s death circulated online, causing widespread concern among fans. Dharmendra’s family addressed the misinformation, requesting sensitivity and responsible reporting.
Bollywood icon Hema Malini, Dharmendra’s longtime co-star and spouse, voiced her concern on social media, writing, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.”
Doctors attending to Dharmendra have advised continued rest, a monitored diet, and regular check-ups to ensure his health remains stable. Fans across the country have expressed relief at the news and continue to send messages of support for the legendary actor’s recovery.
Dharmendra, known as the “He-Man” of Bollywood, has had a prolific career spanning decades, with unforgettable performances in classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Anupama. His enduring popularity and fan following have made him one of Indian cinema’s most respected and beloved figures.
The family and medical team have requested media and fans alike to respect the actor’s privacy as he focuses on his recovery at home.
