Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA)’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre has unveiled its fourth Transactions Report, showcasing a significant leap in scientific contributions for the year 2023. This comprehensive document highlights 71 Scopus Indexed scientific and research papers that were presented at various prestigious international conferences and journals, marking a 14.5% increase from the previous year.
The report spans an array of cutting-edge topics, including solar energy, water, energy efficiency, smart grid integration, Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, space technologies, and energy systems analysis. This breadth of research underscores DEWA's commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability.

In recognition of its outstanding scientific contributions, DEWA has garnered several accolades. Notably, the R&D Centre received the Best Paper Award 2023 from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for six papers presented at the inaugural MENA Solar Conference, hosted by DEWA in November 2023.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, expressed his pride in the achievements of Emirati research projects. He emphasized their global recognition for excellence and leadership, stating, "The significant accomplishments of our researchers reflect the R&D Centre's role in anticipating and shaping a sustainable future. Waleed Bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, highlighted the Centre’s rapid progress, noting, "In a short span, our researchers have demonstrated remarkable capabilities and leadership by developing advanced technologies and sustainable solutions. These innovations not only enhance DEWA’s services and operations but also benefit various utilities worldwide."
