DAE Completes $2 Billion Acquisition of Nordic Aviation Capital

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has officially completed the full purchase of Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) and its group of companies. The deal was made with NAC Holdings Limited, and the total value of the transaction is around US$2 billion.

With this deal done, DAE now owns, manages, or has commitments for about 750 aircraft. Out of these, around 650 aircraft are already owned or managed by DAE and are leased to 161 airlines in 74 different countries. DAE also plans to add nearly 100 more aircraft in the future from big names like Boeing, Airbus, and ATR, as well as from other sellers.

Firoz Tarapore, the CEO of DAE, shared his thoughts on the acquisition. He said that with 650 aircraft under their management, DAE is now the third-largest aircraft leasing company in the world based on the number of aircraft. He added that this move strengthens DAE’s position as a global leader in the aircraft leasing industry and will help the company provide more affordable and effective services to both current and future airline clients.

Tarapore also noted that this acquisition opens doors for DAE to build stronger partnerships with aircraft manufacturers across various aircraft types. He welcomed NAC’s airline clients into the DAE family and said he looks forward to working with them closely in the coming years.

He also thanked everyone who contributed to building NAC over the last 35 years, including Chairman Yadin Rosov and CEO Norm Liu, for their dedication and teamwork throughout the acquisition process.

The deal was first announced in January 2025. DAE received legal advice from Allen Overy Shearman Sterling LLP and financial guidance from KPMG.
