On behalf of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, is leading the UAE delegation at the World Without Hunger Conference in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, in the presence of senior government officials, agricultural experts, and representatives from numerous regional and international organizations focused on food security and agriculture.

Organized in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the African Union Commission, the government of Ethiopia, and with technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the conference seeks to promote innovation and sustainable practices in the agriculture sector to ensure global food security. A key objective of the conference is to encourage enhanced global collaboration, fostering partnerships among key stakeholders and institutions from around the world.
Throughout the event, a variety of critical issues will be discussed, including agricultural production, food safety, financing, and the connection between the energy sector and food security. The conference will also address the role of women and youth in agricultural development, as well as the importance of meeting sustainability standards within the agriculture and food industries. Furthermore, there will be a focus on identifying investment opportunities that can strengthen global food security.
His Highness Sheikh Khaled’s participation underscores the UAE's ongoing commitment to contributing to global efforts aimed at fortifying food security while strengthening the agriculture, food, and supply chain sectors. His presence further highlights the UAE leadership’s long-standing dedication to assisting African nations in overcoming challenges, particularly those related to food security and sustainable development.
In his address, Sheikh Khaled emphasized the importance of the conference as a platform for global collaboration to advance innovative solutions and sustainable technologies that can enhance the stability of global food supply chains. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to supporting initiatives that address climate change and other factors that challenge food production across the world.
In addition to highlighting the UAE’s support for sustainable global food security efforts, His Highness expressed gratitude to the Republic of Ethiopia for hosting this crucial international event and for inviting the UAE to play a central role in the discussions.
Sheikh Khaled is accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; His Excellency Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Rashdi, UAE Ambassador to Ethiopia; and His Excellency Omran Anwar Sharaf Al Hashemi, Assistant Foreign Minister of Advanced Sciences and Technology.
