Chunky Panday Reveals He and Govinda Were Paid Less Than Monkey in Dhawan's Ankhen

Chunky Panday, Shakti Kapoor, and Govinda recently appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show. They shared funny and interesting stories from their time working in Bollywood. One story that made everyone laugh was about the movie Ankhen, directed by David Dhawan. Chunky Panday and Govinda revealed that they were paid less than the monkeys who acted with them in the movie.

Shakti Kapoor began joking about the cast of Ankhen. He said, “In this movie, these two were the heroes. But actually, there were three heroes—Govinda, Chunky, and a monkey. You can ask them about it.” Chunky Panday added, “Yes, the monkey was paid more than us.” Govinda agreed and said with a laugh, “We didn’t get paid at all.”

Shakti shared more about how special the monkey was treated. He said the monkey had a room at the Sun-n-Sand Hotel, which is a very fancy hotel in Mumbai. Shakti joked, “Whenever David Dhawan called for the monkey, Chunky would show up. And when he called for Chunky, the monkey would show up.”

Chunky Panday talked about how the monkey became the star of the movie. He said, “The monkey was very expensive and came from South India. He traveled with six assistants and stayed in the Sun-n-Sand Hotel. He was treated like a big star. Crazy things would happen on set because of him, but everyone loved the monkey. He made things fun on the set.”

Chunky Panday is currently working on his next movie, Housefull 5. The movie is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. It has a very big cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Fardeen Khan, Sonam Bajwa, and Johnny Lever. The movie was supposed to come out during Diwali in 2024, but now it will be released in June 2025.
