A suspected robber chased by Ontario Police crashed his truck into another vehicle, killing three members of an Indian family in Canada on April 29. Now, it has emerged that the 21-year-old burglary suspect was also of Indian-origin.
The collision on a highway in Canada claimed the lives of Manivannan Srinivasapillai, 60, Mahalakshmi Ananthakrishnan, 55, from Chennai, and their three-month-old grandson, Aditya Vivaan. Aditya's parents, Gokulnath Manivannan and Ashwitha Jawahar, survived the crash.
The U-Haul truck, pursued by police, was driven by Gagandeep Singh, 21, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another Indian-origin individual, Manpreet Gill, 38, was in the truck and remains hospitalized.

Some, like Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative party, argue that a better bail system could have prevented the tragedy. However, others contend that Singh's previous releases were fair based on available information.
Toronto lawyer Daniel Brown noted that Singh had received bail for minor offenses before the crash, though the outcome was tragic.
Aditya Vivaan's funeral took place on Wednesday, where he was remembered as a "beautiful soul" who brought immense joy during his short life. His grandparents, who had traveled from India to meet him, were cremated on Monday.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is probing the crash after the driver died, and the passenger sustained serious injuries.
